FC-DRY(TM) HP Fiber Optic Connector

Kulpsville, PA (March 2003) - A new FC-DRY(TM) HP self-sealing fiber optic connector is now available from Greene, Tweed Technologies.

The FC-DRY(TM) HP uses corrosion and chemical resistant 300 series stainless steel for the connector and coupler body while the coupler ferrules and alignment sleeves are precision-machined zirconia. The keyed index connection incorporated in the FC ensures perfect reproducible termini alignment everytime. The unique design of the Greene Tweed FC-DRY(TM) HP assembly completely protects the fiber optic termination from wet environments and
particulate that can interfere with transmission and degrade optical performance.

The FC-DRY(TM) HP has been tested to 1000 PSI with a typical light loss of 0.3 db and a maximum light loss of 0.5 db. The new connector system is designed to operate in hostile environments such as water, ice, humidity and corrosives and can handle temperatures from -40 to +85°C.

FC-DRY(TM) HP watertight connector systems are available for single or multimode fiber and can be supplied with either straight UPC or angled APC ferrules.
