Fiber Laser Marking System provides backlit button marking.

Press Release Summary:

Offering alternative to Nd:YAG systems, Series LPQ creates high-speed material ablation on backlit buttons, backlit panels, keypads, and keyboards, eliminating need for inks, chemicals, or solvents. System consists of Q-Switched fiber laser rated up to 200 W, scan head, PCI control board, power supply, and software. Using FiberScan graphical-based software, users can produce marks such as graphics, logos, symbols, and text in any production environment.

Original Press Release:

Fiber Laser Marking Systems for Backlit Button Marking

Laser Photonics (Lake Mary, FL) dedication towards the advancement of its Q-switched Fiber Laser Technology leads to extraordinary results in the processing of Day/Night Buttons, commonly referred to as Backlit Buttons. This application requires utmost precision due to fine ablation requirements of a multi-level coating process (i.e. clear button covered with both a white paint layer and a black paint layer - black paint is removed to allow white paint to show through with extremely high contrast). The fiber laser's small spot size (true TEMoo beam profile) and high repeatability vaporizes the first layer of paint without causing any damage to the plastic to allow light to pass through. Success is measured in full paint removal and zero pin holes-which can be a daunting task for many other laser system manufacturers. Laser Photonics' years of application knowledge and research allow for such developments. The Fiber Laser Marking System is a safe, low cost alternative to conventional Nd:YAG systems to successfully create high speed, high quality material ablation on Backlit Buttons, Backlit Panels and Keypads and Keyboards, thus eliminating the need for inks, chemicals, solvents and printing clichis. Using our FiberScan graphical-based laser programming software, users can easily marks such as graphics, logos, symbols and text in any production environment. The LPQ fiber laser series feature independent components: Q-Switched Fiber Laser (up to 200 watts available), Scan Head, PCI Control Board, Power Supply and Software configured for backlit button marking. Its ease of installation and laser programming allows for quick start-up and minimal changeover. Other advantages include the need for only a low-voltage power source (110VAC) and wall-plug efficiencies up to 20% (and higher) resulting in compact size, reduced utilities and trouble-free air-cooling. Laser photonics LPQ fiber laser series provide easy-to-integrate solutions for direct part marking (DPM) applications while eliminating the need for time consuming finishing processes.
