Hirose FH41 and FH48 Series Enable High-Speed Transmission for Shielded FFC

Available for connection with impedance control... SIMI VALLEY, CA -- Hirose, a leader in the development of connector solutions, has developed a 0.5mm pitch FFC/FPC connector that supports high-speed serial interface technology for picture transmission and next-generation chip V-by-One® HS by THine. Designated the FH41 Series (right angle) and the FH48 Series (vertical), these connectors feature an exclusive ground terminal design, impedance-matched shielded FFC ground contacts, and high-speed transmission rates using a differential impedance of 100W±10% (3.75 Gbps max.). "These connectors make use of proven Hirose design elements to ensure the highly reliable mechanical and electrical connections that are imperative for satisfying the high performance levels and increasing speeds required by image transmission applications," said Rick van Weezel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Hirose Electric USA. The FH41 andFH48 Series are 0.5mm pitch, 2.5mm above-the-board connectors for use with shielded FFC. These series are separate and individual, but both utilize many of the same features. Both series come equipped with ground terminals and are available for connection with impedance control and shielded FFC. Both series also share a common FPC layout, which enables both the right angle and vertical connectors to be used on the same design without having to change the layout on the flex circuit. Additionally, both the FH41 and FH48 Series are able to maintain highly reliable mechanical and electrical connections by utilizing Hirose Electric's proven design features, which include precise FFC/FPC positioning, flip-lock rotating actuators, durable construction, and a tactile sensation that confirms when proper locking of the actuator has been made. They are also both designed for use with pick-and-place machines, enabling quickplacement on the PCB. All FH41 and FH48 Series connectors are halogen-free, as defined by IEC61249-2-21, and are RoHS-compliant. Theyhave a current rating of 0.5A, a voltage rating of 50 Vrms AC, and a contact resistance of 100 m Ohms. They have also been shown to last for 20 mating cycles, and are available in 20, 40, 50, and 68 positions. Pricing and lead times are available upon request.
