FEV Shows ASM Box at 2015 SAE World Congress

ASM Box provides efficient OBD signal manipulation for homologation and certification

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - FEV North America, Inc. (FEV) a leading developer of vehicle systems and advanced powertrain technologies, will be showing its Actuator Sensor Manipulation (ASM) Box at the 2015 SAE World Congress, April 21 - 23 at Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich. The ASM Box is part of FEV's industry-leading TOPEXPERT Suite of calibration tools.

With the increase in number and complexity of vehicle systems, the ASM Box provides a powerful tool for powertrain OBD developers, capable of generating arbitrary OBD failure patterns by manipulating electrical signals while installed in-vehicle, including signals for injection solenoids and piezo injectors, ignition, oxygen sensors, crankshaft sensors as well as SENT, LIN and CAN messages. The ASM box can manipulate basic analog and digital as well as PWM signals.

As a result, the ASM box can increase efficiency in verification of an OBD calibration, especially for homologation and certification of vehicles for the U.S. market. The ASM Box also comes with a base set of failure models and uses XCP access for comfortable parameterization of failure models. It features easy to use software that can be combined with MATLAB SIMULINK to improve calibration quality and efficiency.

The ASM Box represents FEV's capability beyond the powertrain, highlighting its expertise as a full vehicles systems solution provider.
