FEI Launches Certified Tools Program Globally
New Program Offers Customers Enhanced Flexibility for Purchasing Factory Certified FEI Solutions
HILLSBORO, Ore., July 10 / -- FEI Company (NASDAQ:FEIC) has announced the global launch of its Certified Tools program featuring factory-refurbished FEI systems that are fully-tested and warranted to meet original factory specifications. With the Certified Tools program, customers will now have greater flexibility and added confidence as they plan capital equipment acquisitions.
Each FEI Certified Tool undergoes a rigorous factory test and refurbishment process. Emitters, software, controls, and columns that do not meet performance criteria, or are reaching the end of their service life are upgraded with FEI components and software to ensure that the system will meet or even exceed the original factory specifications. Because all work is done by skilled technicians in FEI's advanced manufacturing facilities, all FEI Certified Tools are shipped from the factory with a full 90-day parts and service warranty and are eligible for FEI's service contracts.
The global launch of the Certified Tools programs follows the successful introduction of the program in China earlier this year. "We are excited to expand the Certified Tools program to all of our markets," commented Paul O'Mara, FEI's senior vice president of worldwide service. "The expansion of the program comes as customers in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific continue to invest in tools that enable nanoscale research, development and manufacturing. These investments will include a mix of both new and refurbished equipment for labs and factories across multiple markets including semiconductors and data storage, research institutions and general industry."
As part of FEI's Certified Tools program, customers may also be able to trade in select FEI systems, determined by current market demand and inventories, with the purchase of new equipment. This will enable FEI's customers to expand their capabilities while optimizing their asset management strategies.
