Feed System offers reclaim rates up to 1,200 lb/hr per screw.

Press Release Summary:

Granulate Feed System enables plastic film and sheet processors to reclaim and reuse edge trim and roll scrap. Separate chambers feed virgin resins and fluff into extruder to ensure ratio of fluff to virgin is consistently achieved. Variable speed motor-driven auger automatically adjusts feed rate based on speed of extruder. Unit fits in round, square, oval, and rectangular extruder throats ranging from 2½-8 in.

Trim and Scrap Removal System Manufacturer to Unveil Granulate Feed System at NPE Booth #9333

New System Feeds Fluff and Virgin Resin Without Extruder Surging Precision AirConvey Closes The Loop For Simultaneous Waste Feed, Reclamation

Newark, DE: The new Granulate Feed System from trim waste and scrap removal system developer Precision AirConvey, Newark, Del., to be unveiled at NPE 2003 booth #9333 on June 23, 2003 in Chicago, Ill. enables plastic film and sheet processors to reclaim and reuse edge trim and roll scrap without densifying or pelletizing the waste material at reclaim rates of up to 1,200 lbs./hr. per screw. Featuring dual hopper chambers in a single unit, the new system accepts fluff and virgin resins in separate chambers, feeds the virgin into the extruder gravimetrically and auger-feeds the fluff to ensure the desired ratio of fluff to virgin resin is consistently achieved and extruder throughput demand is satisfied. To accommodate changes in extruder throughput, the PAC system includes a variable speed motor-driven auger, which automatically adjusts the feed rate based on the speed of the extruder, as well as agitator arms to prevent bridging and loss of feed. Consistent feeding is assured while extruder surging is virtually eliminated.

Engineered with an internal limit switch inside the fluff chamber, the PAC Granulate Feed System enslaves the unit to a granulator roll feeder to permit the simultaneous feeding of both edge trim and roll scrap. When operating in conjunction with a PAC high-efficiency cyclone and TrimPAC trim waste and scrap removal system, the PAC Granulate Feed System establishes a closed reclamation loop that reduces the risk of material contamination, minimizes personnel requirements and cuts overall material costs.

The PAC Granulate Feed System fits easily in round, square, oval and rectangular extruder throats and is custom fitted to each extruder at no additional charge. The new system fits extruders ranging from 2-1/2" - 8" and may be customized with a fluff crammer and in-line trim repelletizing system.
