fe-safe(TM) now the Standard Fatigue Code for Dana Engineers Worldwide

DANA Corporation, Ohio, USA, the leading designer and supplier of automotive systems and components for major vehicle producers around the world, has extended the use of Safe Technology's state-of-the art fatigue analysis software, fe-safe(TM), by making the software available to its engineers globally.

Dana chose fe-safe(TM) originally for its superior technical features and impressive multiaxial capabilities. Safe Technology highly encourages multiaxial analyses and in this respect, the two companies' philosophy on the best way to conduct fatigue analysis is closely matched.

"Safe Technology has consistently given us excellent support and I am always impressed with their depth of experience and knowledge; they are always prompt with problem resolution. The fe-safe(TM) interface is also very clean and its use is rather intuitive. It made perfect sense to make fe-safe(TM) available to our engineers around the world" said Blake Garretson, Design Analysis Engineer, Dana Automotive Systems.

"The use of fe-safe(TM) has allowed Dana engineers to identify potential overly conservative analyses, thus eliminating unnecessary 'overdesign'," said Ravi Joshi, Design Analysis Engineer, Automotive Systems.

"The use of fe-safe(TM) to calculate crack initiation automatically ensures mean stress correction, and also allows for direct life estimation of a component, something of chief interest to our customers and an important justification for us to use fe-safe(TM) as a post FEA tool for life prediction."
