New Machine Expands On-Site Capabilities



LAGUNA HILLS, California - February 4, 2004

Plastic & Metal Center now offers a one-stop shop for components from design and development through production for many industries, which includes medical, aerospace, automotive, and electronics. Plastic & Metal Center's new Fusion Deposition Modeling (FDM) machine can be used to verify the actual parts dimension for fit and form within hours before the actual component needs to be machined. The Fusion Deposition Modeling (FDM) machine is able to produce working parts made out of ABS in a variety of colors such as black, white, red, yellow, and more. The Fusion Deposition Modeling (FDM) machine gives the customer the opportunity to obtain a working part. At Plastic & Metal Center's low rate of $50 an hour, parts can be achieved within a few hours. "Our company has the capability of providing design assistance at the concept level," said Fred Carr, Vice President of Plastic & Metal Center.

In addition to providing rapid prototype samples, Plastic & Metal Center also has the ability to provide machined prototypes in any material. Materials include Teflon, Delrin, Nylon, and a variety of others. Plastic & Metal Center maintains eight CNC machining centers for fast response for customer needs. "We use SolidWorks software to deliver quick access to other popular software," explains Fara Khaladj, President of Plastic & Metal Center. Plastic & Metal Center has metal experience from aluminum to stainless steel to exotic materials, such as titanium. Plastic & Metal Center has the resources to provide a variety of on-site services for customer convenience. "Now with our FDM services we have reduced concept to prototyping within hours and our customers have more choices of production to suit their needs," said Amir Fatanat, Production Manager at Plastic & Metal Center.
