OpenText RightFax 10 Adds Enhanced Support for Cloud-based Office Systems

Major Release Marks 25(th) Anniversary of OpenText's Fax Server Software, Key Analyst Report Names OpenText the Industry Leader in Fax over IP

WATERLOO, ON - OpenText(TM) (NASDAQ: OTEX) (TSX: OTC) today announced that its industry-leading fax server software now includes enhanced security for sending and receiving faxes from cloud-based office systems including Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps with the release of OpenText RightFax 10.

As companies of all sizes look to cloud-based office application suites such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google Apps, the ability to securely send and receive faxes through these services will be critical, while also retaining integration with other parts of the organization. Adding to its cloud support, RightFax Web Access is now included with all systems, allowing users to access their RightFax server from a Web browser.

RightFax 10 marks the kick-off of the 25(th) anniversary year for RightFax and represents a significant milestone in the product's history. In addition to enhanced support for cloud-based office systems, the new release makes it easier, faster and more secure for customers to integrate faxing into their business processes and workflows with new features such as barcode routing, searchable PDF delivery and enhanced Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Lotus Notes 8.5 integration. It also adds optional accessibility support that meets mandates under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

OpenText is the leading overall fax server supplier and the leading supplier in the fast-growing fax over IP (FoIP) market, according to a recently released report called Fax over IP Server Markets: 2010-2015 authored by Davidson Consulting, an independent fax industry analyst firm. OpenText achieved the leading position in the FoIP segment by virtue of its 46-percent revenue growth in the past year and captured
31 percent of the market.

The OpenText fax and document distribution business has experienced steady growth thanks to a strong set of channel partners and steady improvement in customer support and product satisfaction ratings.

Moreover, the overall market for fax servers continues to grow. Frost & Sullivan* estimates that the enterprise fax marketplace will grow to $591 million by 2017 from $372 million in 2010, representing a compound annual growth rate of 6.9 percent.

"OpenText's position as the FoIP leader and the release of RightFax 10 reflects the trust our customers have shown in our people and products along with our continued investment in building our development and support teams," said Matthew Brine, Vice President, Fax and Document Distribution, OpenText. "Our investment in the fax business has not only resulted in OpenText advancing its fax server leadership position, but it has resulted in improved customer satisfaction scores for both customer support and product functionality."

Fax technology is relied on to finalize transactions and to meet regulatory requirements in many industries, with particular emphasis in healthcare and life sciences, financial services, government, mortgage services, manufacturing and legal. In these industries, fax servers such as RightFax are used to eliminate the need for paper-based faxing and integrate fax into business workflow and unified communications systems.

One such example is Memorial Health Systems in Colorado Springs that is using RightFax to manage more than 15,000 faxes per week over its IP network. "As Colorado Springs has grown, our health system has grown with it and moved forward in terms of technology. RightFax is a smart choice for integrating with existing and future technologies," said Scott Port, Application System Administrator for the 4,000-employee hospital chain.

RightFax 10: Extensive Improvements and New Features

Building on a 25-year reputation as the most reliable and robust fax server on the market, the latest version of RightFax offers improvements and new features in four main areas: efficiency and productivity; business continuity; greater performance and enhanced security; and flexible deployment.

-- Efficiency and Productivity-RightFax 10 boosts productivity with the inclusion of native, searchable PDF documents and barcode routing technologies. This means that the system delivers to all common end points fax documents that are already overlaid with results from optical character recognition along with high reliability routing options. This leads to better archiving and management of fax documents.

-- Business continuity - RightFax 10 introduces Branch Office Server to address the logistical, cost, performance and business continuity challenges that multi-site organizations face to support the fax needs of remote workers and office locations. The new capability allows branch offices to run fax servers reliably and independently, while continuing to meet corporate policies and regulations for fax document handling and retention. The Branch Office Server is also well suited for Cisco's ISR G2 SRE Module.

-- Greater Performance and Enhanced Security - RightFax 10 provides highly secure, advanced email system integration, which helps to keep sensitive information hidden from prying eyes and includes a number of performance and reliability enhancements. Also with this release, OpenText is enhancing the licensing and activation process for RightFax in order to streamline installation and ongoing maintenance. It uses a system unique identifier (SUID) mechanism to include MFP and data connectors, and will live across all future versions.

-- Flexible Deployment with On and Off Premise solutions - RightFax 10 provides a robust and secure mechanism that will integrate with an on-premise messaging system such as Microsoft Exchange(TM) and IBM Lotus Notes/Domino. The new mail system integrations also allow integration with both Google Apps and the forthcoming Microsoft Office365 Exchange Online solutions to provide enterprises with options for routing faxes to user's desktops.
