Weld Stud Mount from HellermannTyton Streamlines Production and Eliminates Part Numbers
October 31, 2002 -- Milwaukee, WI -- HellermannTyton introduces the weld stud mount, a fastener featuring a pre-installed stud, which greatly enhances productivity by streamlining production and reducing part numbers. The weld stud mount, when used with a cable tie, secures wire harnesses and hoses to a frame. Often used in transportation and heavy equipment manufacturing, the weld stud mount is manufactured from heat stabilized, impact modified nylon 6/6. Unlike metal clamps, the weld stud mount will not rust or abrade wire, cable, or hoses. Many manufacturers use over 20 p-clamp part numbers, along with nuts, bolts, and washers, for this application; the weld stud mount and cable tie solution from HellermannTyton accomplishes the same task with just two part numbers. In addition, the installation process is further simplified as holes do not have to be drilled through metal frames in order to apply the weld stud mount. The mount is applied with innovative welding equipment manufactured by Image Industries, Wood Dale, IL (www.imageindustries.com). This equipment further enhances labor savings, as paint does not have to be removed from the welding surface before the installation. The weld stud mount can be applied to a metal surface in 1/3 of one second.
