Fairchild Semiconductor Introduces Power-On-Demand(TM)-- Providing Custom Design Power Supplies

o Power-On-Demand delivers fully populated and tested power supplies within seven days
o Another capability of Fairchild's Global Power Resource(TM)

South Portland, Maine-October 26, 2005-Fairchild Semiconductor's (NYSE:FCS) Power-On-Demand(TM) is a unique online capability that streamlines product selection and design for 10-25W AC/DC Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). Using Fairchild's website at www.fairchildsemi.com/powerondemand, engineers input system specifications and receive a fully populated and tested power supply customized for their needs within seven days. Included with this power supply, the engineer receives detailed test and layout information.

"With the increasing pressure for customers to bring products to market faster, Fairchild's Power-On-Demand provides a complete production-ready power supply, requiring only UL testing. This capability eliminates time spent in product selection, design and system optimization," says Robert Gendron, senior director of Marketing and Technical Resources.

Power-On-Demand is another capability of Fairchild's Global Power Resource(TM) -- a worldwide network of power design centers, systems application experts, online design tools, evaluation boards and joint research and development labs. These power design centers are staffed with system design experts working closely with customers to solve their design challenges. To enhance and broaden support for its customers, Fairchild has integrated resources on its website with design, selection and educational tools for customers to access and optimize designs in real time.

Power-On-Demand, as well as Fairchild's traditional evaluation boards, can be accessed at Fairchild-Direct(TM) (fairchild-direct.com).
