Widia M780 Face Mill Keeps Cutting Efficiency High

(FÃœRTH/BAVARIA, GERMANY) -- High feed rates, smooth cutting, and excellent surface quality when machining cast iron and steel are key features of Kennametal's new Widia M 780 face mill.

Already achieving excellent cutting results in the automotive industry, the Widia milling cutter is fitted with square, negative indexable inserts with eight cutting edges. A positive cutting angle ensures a smooth cut, low cutting force, and low power consumption. The four high-performance coated grades TN2510 (for machining GTS & GTW cast iron), TN5515 (for GGG with low/average hardness up to around GGG50, as well as GG and GGV), TN7525 (GGG increased/high hardness from GGG50, as well as steel) and TN450 (for GGG increased/high hardness from GGG50 and steel) are available with three geometries (LD, GP, HE) for light, general and moderately heavy milling and offer long tool life.

The cutters are available in left and right-hand versions and can also be used with a coolant screw. The proven wedge clamping system is used on both coarse and fine pitch options.
