February 8, 2002 - Carboloy (Warren, Ml), a part of Seco Tools AB, has introduced Hexamill (220.66), a new line of face milling cutters that feature hexagonal inserts for increased economy and productivity in medium to heavy-duty face milling applications. The Hexamill family complements the company's 220.60 family of heavy-duty facemills and its versatile 220.43 Octomill(TM) facemills.
New cassettes that accept the Hexamill inserts are available for the 220.60 CH/CHT cutter bodies. The new Hexamill CM cutter body can also be fitted with cassettes for inserts for depths of cut of more than 0.315 in. as with the 220.60 family of heavy-duty face milling cutters that it complements:
* Hexamill is available in both normal and close pitch versions
* Strong, thick inserts with 6 cutting edges enable feed rates in excess of .020 inch/tooth to be used on machines with sufficient power
* Wiper inserts are available for superior surface finish applications
* And it can be used in turn milling applications as well.
