Original Press Release:

New 'Direct OEM Replacement' Yellow Jacket Extruders

In response to plastic processors demands, Wayne has introduced the new Yellow Jacket "Direct OEM Replacement" line of large 3-1/2", 4-1/2", 6" and 8" extruders. This unprecedented design innovation allows customers to "Drop-In" new replacement extruders that have been customized to exactly match overall outside dimensions, hopper locations, center distances, power drop and utility connections, vent stack location, barrel flange and screw design. This avoids many of the common problems processors face when forced to replace, for example, a large 3-1/2" to 8" spent extruder which may have been built from the 1950's to the 1980's and whose manufacturer is long out of business. Wayne conducts a comprehensive review of the existing line size, location, utility and interface parameters, and customizes the extruders to match. Once delivered, this means a large extruder can often be replaced in less than one day of installation time. Processors also avoid the headache of disposing of the spent extruder, as Wayne accepts trade-ins to reduce the purchase price of the new Yellow Jacket Extruder. Processors gain all of the benefits of new digital auto tuning temperature control, AC Flux Vector drives and increased output technology and simultaneously eliminate the high switching costs that are normally incurred during an upgrade. The pictured machine is a 3-1/2" 24:1 Soft PVC Profile Direct OEM Replacement Extruder. Models for blown and cast film, compounding, fiber optic sheathing, fiber melt spinning, tubing, wire and cable coating and other extrusion processes are available.
