XCEX Explosionproof Control Enclosures Among The First To Be ATEX-Certified

The Adalet XCEX Series of Flameproof Control Enclosures is now
ATEX-Certified.

The European Union's ATEX Directive 94/9/EC went into effect on a
voluntary basis on March lst 1996. The Directive becomes mandatory on July 1st 2003 and all products sold or placed into service in any EU Member State must be ATEX-certified at that time. All ATEX-certified flameproof products are currently designed to CENELEC EN50014 and EN50018 standards and require ATEX inspection to verify conformity. Inspection records must be maintained indefinitely.

Adalet's XCEX series enclosures are used in the installation of
electrical/electronic components for control, measurement or
monitoring applications in hazardous environments. XCEX control
enclosures can be modified for installation of a variety of
explosionproof operator devices, viewing windows, and accessories, permitting the development of customized enclosure systems.

Features include copper-free aluminum construction which is
corrosion-resistant with a tumblast finish. Wall thicknesses are
uniform, to aid in the installation of control devices, windows
and conduit openings. Integral, cast-on, mounting lugs are slotted to make field installation easier. The external flange design provides maximum accessibility to internal components.

Premium, high-strength, metric steel cover bolts are plated and
coated for maximum corrosion resistance. The enclosures are certified as drillable for operators and conduit/cable entries
either at the factory or in the field. Internal and external
earthing devices are standard. Covers exceeding 75 lbs. are
provided with two removable eye bolts for ease of handling.

Design options include: stainless steel cover bolts; 0-ring seal
for NEMA Type 4(4X) and IEC IP66; cast-on company logos, mounting
buttons, bosses and pads; captive cover bolts; hinges; windows;
mounting pans; auxiliary device installation; and factory-machined conduit/cable entries. Finish options include: polyester powder coating; anodizing; tropicalization; PVC coating; and epoxy paint.
