Solution Offers Advanced Management for the Next Generation Virtualized Data Center
FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 31 - Exar Corporation (NASDAQ:EXAR), a silver sponsor of VMworld, will demonstrate an Edge Virtual Bridging (EVB) solution for virtual environments using Exar's industry leading I/O Virtualization technology (IOV), and Extreme Network's Direct Attach architecture. The joint solution enables all VM traffic to be visible to the network, allowing policies to be configured and enforced using standard equipment for all virtualized networking traffic. This simplifies data center management and dramatically reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
The demonstration will highlight Exar's Neterion X3100 family of 10GbE NICs, which are optimized for virtualization, enabling I/O bandwidth and priorities to be dynamically configured while delivering near native performance in virtualized environments, and Extreme Networks' Summit X650 Top-of-Rack switch for server virtualization and 10GbE aggregation.

Exar, located in booth #1506, will showcase the EVB, advanced management demonstration with Extreme Networks and a demonstration of how the X3100 10GbE NIC dynamically manages bandwidth, ensuring SLA's and Quality of Service policies.
