Evana Automation to Supply Two Turnkey Assembly and Test Lines to a Leading Global Tier 1 Auto Supplier

The semi-automated lines will improve production throughput of automobile seat assemblies and capture critical traceability data

Evansville, Indiana – Evana Automation Specialists, a leading Systems Integrator and builder of custom, automated assembly and test systems, recently received a contract to supply two turnkey assembly and test systems to a leading global Tier 1 automotive supplier. The semi-automated lines will improve production throughput of automobile seat assemblies and capture critical traceability data.

The process begins when an operator loads a seat assembly frame to an automatic, palletized conveyance system. As the pallets transfer down the line, components are added to the seat assemblies by production staff at manual and fully- automated workstations. Each line will be capable of producing and testing powered and non-powered seats for functionality. Traceability of all critical test data (seat functionality and power) will be captured in each line's database, dependent on the model being produced.

The assembly and test lines are scheduled for a July 2015 delivery.

"Each seat model will be inspected by various sensors to confirm all components have been installed and verified," said Randy Wire, general manager of Evana Automation Specialists. "Overall, Evana's automation solutions will improve throughput and provide effective quality control assurance."
