DALLAS -- To help professional engineers, hobbyists and university students kickstart the development of Wi-Fi-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) applications, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) today announced the SimpleLink(TM) Wi-Fi® CC3000 BoosterPack. The new Wi-Fi BoosterPack is powered by the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 module from TI, which offers simplified Wi-Fi connectivity for microcontroller (MCU) -based systems. Working with both the MSP430(TM) and Tiva(TM) C Series MCU LaunchPad evaluation kits, the CC3000 BoosterPack (CC3000BOOST) quickly gets designs started for a wide variety of MCU-based home automation, health and fitness and machine to machine (M2M) applications. Since the new BoosterPack is based on TI's SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 module, it benefits from features including reduced development time, lower manufacturing costs, less board space, easier certification, and minimal required RF expertise. Availability and pricing

The SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 BoosterPack (CC3000BOOST) is available now through the TI eStore and TI authorized distributors. The BoosterPack retails for $35 USD. A CC3000 evaluation module (CC3000EM) for other TI MCU EVMs such as the MSP-EXP430FR5739 FRAM experimenter board is also available from TI.



The CC3000 BoosterPack is also being offered as a bundle on TI's eStore with the MSP430 LaunchPad evaluation kit and will soon be available as a bundle with the Tiva C Series LaunchPad evaluation kit.
