ETI-MELT(TM) Adhesive Meets Need for Clear Film, No-Label Look

BRIDGEWATER, NJ, November 2, 2006 - National Adhesives has introduced ETI-MELT(TM) 396, a new high-tack, light-color labeling adhesive ideally suited for creating a "no-label" look on clear films.

ETI-MELT 396 adhesive, which officially debuted at the Pack Expo trade show in Chicago last month, provides superior adhesion on wrap-around labeling of glass, PVC, HDPE and PET bottles with paper or poly labels in both pickup and overlap applications. The hot melt adhesive works well on a wide variety of containers, including water, carbonated soft drinks, non-carbonated fruit and energy drinks, dairy products, jarred and bottled foods and household products. It is especially suited for cold-beverage containers where clear, water-white adhesive is required.

Suitable for all label stocks, substrates and both cut & stack and roll-fed application equipment, ETI-MELT 396 adhesive has superior thermal stability, which minimizes charring and reduces maintenance. Its aggressive tack properties eliminate flagging, enabling the adhesive to perform well on jog- to high-line speeds. The adhesive meets composition requirements of Indirect Food Additives regulations and has a suggested running temperature of 275-315°F.

ETI-MELT 396 is the newest addition to what National Adhesives calls its line of "quiet" adhesives, adhesives that remove distractions, or "noise," such as throwing, stringing, downtime and rejects, from labeling operations.
