Ethernet Switches feature temperature range of 0-60°C .

Press Release Summary:

Available in copper and fiber models, Series EICP includes 8 auto-MDI/X ports for attaching local devices, or for use as uplink port. Ninth port comprises conventional MDI/X port and MDI port that can be used as uplink port to allow cascading to another hub without crossover cable. LEDs show link/activity/data rate by color: green for 100 Mbps, and yellow for 10 Mbps. Powered from low-voltage ac or dc power sources, units include DIN rail clip for mounting.

Contemporary Controls Introduces New Compact Switches

Downers Grove, Illinois (July 20, 2004)-For engineers with budget constraints, the EICP series of Ethernet switches provide the solution for industrial applications. Joe Stasiek, Sales Manager for Contemporary Controls, says by proper component selection, the EICP has the same form factor and Plug and Play functionality of its wide temperature cousin, the EISX, but made more affordable for industrial temperature applications. "Especially those applications requiring a small footprint and a temperature range between 0° to +60° C," says Stasiek. Both copper and fiber models in the EICP series are available.

Just standard and straight-through cables are necessary to connect copper ports to NICs or another hub. Eight auto-MDI/X ports are available on the EICP9-100T for attaching local devices, or for use as an uplink port. The ninth port has a conventional MDI/X port and a MDI port that can be used as an uplink port to allow cascading to another hub without the need of a crossover cable. There's one power LED, and each port has an LED showing link/activity/data rate by color: green for 100 Mbps and yellow for 10 Mbps. Flashing shows port activity.

This unit is shipped with a DIN-rail clip installed. If direct mounting to a subpanel is desired, an optional panel mounting bracket, shipped with the product, can be installed after removing the DIN-rail clip.

This series can be powered from either wide-range, low-voltage AC or DC power sources. Redundant power connections are provided to accommodate back-up power schemes.

The EICP series is available in seven models. The EICP9-100T offers nine twisted-pair ports. The EICP9-100T/FT has eight twisted-pair ports and one multimode (1300 nm) port with ST connectors. The EICP9-100T/FC is identical except is uses SC
connectors. The EICP9-100T/FCS also has SC connectors but with single-mode (1300 nm) ports. The EICP8-100T/FT has six twisted-pair ports and two multimode (1300 nm) ports with ST connectors. The EICP8-100T/FC is identical except it uses SC connectors. The EICP-100T/FCS also has SC connectors but with single-mode (1300 nm) ports.

Prices for these units are as follows. The EICP9-100T is $495. Both the EICP9-100T/FT and the EICP8-100T/FC are $645 each. The EICP9-100T/FCS is $795. Both the EICP8-100T/FT and the EICP8-100T/FC are $795 each. The EICP8-100T/FCS is $1095.

Most models will be available in mid-August.
