Korenix New JetNet 5628G-R IEC 61850-3 Substation-rated Managed Switch provides More Connectivity Options in Power Substations!
Korenix introduces a new model, the JetNet 5628G-R modular managed rackmount switch in its wide range of IEC 61850-3 substation certified switches. The new switch is designed with Ethernet ports on the rear side, bringing more flexible connection possibility to meet users' specific installation needs in substation-like deployments. The new design, where only LEDs are displayed on the front panel, will allow users to monitor the system and port status through LED.
The JetNet 5628G-R shares the same interface design with other JetNet 5628G models: it is equipped with 4 on-board gigabit combo ports for high-speed backbone links and 3 easily exchangeable modular slots. Various combinations of these slots enable users to form up to 24 copper or 18 fiber connections, hence increasing the device's connectivity options while reducing installation units and costs.
The switch, with fanless design and -40~85oC extended operating temperature range is approved for different vertical market standards' conformance, including IEC 61850-3 & IEEE 1613 for power substations, NEMA TS1/TS2 for intelligent traffic control system and EN 50121-4 for railway trackside, and therefore can perform high stability under heavy industrial deployments.
To ensure network redundancy, the switch supports RSTP / MSTP for forming redundant networks with traditional devices, as well as Korenix's own patented Multiple Super Ring technology for seamless network restoration. With MSR users can form up to 12 100Mbps plus 2 giga rings for redundant copper and fiber uplink connections while ensuring non-stop data transfer without any loss or topology change.
To meet the superior management and security requirements imposed by IEC 61850-3 & IEEE1613 substation standards, the JetNet 5628G-R provides LLDP and JetView Pro efficient network management software for automatic topology visualization as well as QoS, 256 VLAN, Private VLAN, QinQ, IGMP Snooping, LACP, and other advanced management and security features for high quality and reliable network communication. To monitor the status of the switches and connect to SCADA systems and other advanced Ethernet-based devices, the JetNet 5628G-R now also supports Modbus/TCP registers.
