MARKHAM, ONTARIO -- GE (NYSE: GE) announces the release of its latest MultiLink™ Ethernet switch, the ML3000, for use in industrial and energy applications. As more electronic devices become capable of communication, the need to remotely control and monitor these devices increases, and Ethernet communication offers improved reliability, faster data transfer and more security.



With an increased number of ports, the ML3000 gives customers more flexible network design options and can help reduce installation time and costs by allowing users to configure the switch for as many as 32 Power of Ethernet (PoE) ports, to power up and communicate with end devices, such as badge readers, surveillance cameras and VoIP telephones, over a single cable. Up to 18 fiber connections or 36 copper connections provide additional wiring options.



The ML3000 is ruggedly built specifically for use in the harsh environments found in industrial facilities, electrical substations and intelligent transportation systems, operating in temperature ranges of -40°C to +85°C, without fans. Device management consists of using a simple Web browser, via GE's EnerVista™ software, providing a convenient method to program all settings with simple point-and-click operation.
