Kepware Technologies Announces A Major Performance Upgrade for Their Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet OPC Server!
Yarmouth, ME - May 12, 2003 -- Kepware Technologies, a worldwide supplier of OPC server technology, announces today the performance release for their Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet OPC server. The Allen- Bradley ControlLogix driver has been redesigned to use a completely new acquisition method to gather data directly from Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processors resulting in a phenomenal improvement on performance. This new method of direct access allows this next generation ControlLogix driver to gather much larger amounts of data from the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processor(s) while at the same time dramatically reducing the load on the PLC.
The Allen-Bradley ControlLogix driver can now upload the tag database directly from the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processor. This provides a more detailed understanding of the structure of the data within the Allen- Bradley ControlLogix processor; therefore, allowing this next generation driver to make highly intelligent decisions about how to acquire data. The driver now accesses controller memory in large highly optimized reads, allowing the driver to achieve read rates radically higher then before. As always, no additional software library or hardware is required.
