New Industrial Ethernet Switch Pre-Configured for Ring Redundancy

A new Industrial Ethernet Ring Switch, which offers the performance features of a managed switch with the simplicity of an unmanaged switch, has been released by Weed Instrument of Round Rock, Texas.

The new EOTec 2104 Industrial Ethernet Ring Switch comes preconfigured for ring redundancy, offering virtual "plug-and-play" performance for quick and easy startup and commissioning. The switch utilizes self-healing ring topology, featuring the simplicity and ease of operation of an unmanaged switch while providing the benefits (i.e. port mirroring, broadcast storm protection, priority queuing, etc.) of a managed switch. In addition to offering a very fast recovery time (30ms + 5ms/hop) the switch allows for real-time data transfer with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet compliance. The highly reliable EOTec 2104 also offers diagnostic outputs for use in your most critical process applications.

Ruggedly engineered and certified for harsh environmental conditions (-40 to +85C), the new switch performs admirably in a variety of challenging environments. Two local and one global relay alarm contacts are included, and expansion modules are available for additional copper/fiber ports.

The new EOTec 2104 Industrial Ethernet Ring Switch allows universal redundant power supply inputs of both 120/240VAC, 125VDC and 24VDC.
