Ethernet I/O Module features expandable design.

Press Release Summary:

Accommodating plug-and-play I/O expansion module, JNIOR Model 310 features software that will automatically recognize module and dynamically integrate additional I/O points into its data structure. Multiple users and/or remote applications can access JNIOR via TCP/IP, Modbus/TCP, and OPC Server protocols. Ethernet connectivity and Advanced Capabilities enable module to be used for asset management, production monitoring, energy usage monitoring, and facility management.

Original Press Release:

Flexible Ethernet I/O Module is Now Expandable

PITTSBURGH, PA - December 6, 2005 - INTEG process group, inc., a supplier of connectivity and asset management solutions, today announced that its JNIOR Model 310 now has expandable I/O.

The JNIOR (pronounced "junior") is one of the first in its class to handle an I/O expansion module that is fully 'plug-n-play'. Software on the JNIOR will automatically recognize the module and dynamically integrate the additional I/O points into its data structure and built-in functionality. The first module to be added to the JNIOR "I/O Net" provides the ability to add 4 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs.

The JNIOR provides Ethernet connectivity and Advanced Capabilities enabling it to be used for a variety of applications, including asset management, production monitoring, energy usage monitoring, and facility management. The inputs can be used as a standard input, counter, latching input, alarm point, and/or usage meter. The outputs can be used as a standard output, pulsed output, usage meter and/or "slaved" output where the output follows an input signal ("master") on the same or different JNIOR.

The JNIOR uses web server technology to simplify configuration and commissioning and to enable instant access for remote monitoring and control of the I/O via the built-in Java-based web pages. Multiple users and/or remote applications can access the JNIOR via industry standard protocols including TCP/IP, Modbus/TCP, and the included OPC Server. Sample programs and development tools (Microsoft Windows library) are provided. An e-mail client is also included for event and alarm notification.

With over 3,000 JNIORs sold to-date, OEMs and end-users are using the JNIOR and INTEG for all their asset management needs, including integration with control systems and business applications. Full technical support is available from INTEG for system design, software development and commissioning with custom OEM versions available.
