Belden Expands Industrial Ethernet Cable Line With Additional DataTuff Category 5e Cables

RICHMOND, IN - Belden CDT Electronics Division, a world leader in the development of specialty cable products for the commercial, industrial, broadcast and residential markets, announces the expansion of its line of DataTuff data cables with the addition of one 2-pair and three 4-pair Category 5e cables. The new cables expand Belden's comprehensive selection of Industrial Ethernet cables, which include DataTuff Cat 5e and Cat 6 twisted pair copper cables and TrayOptic fiber optic cables.

Belden Industrial Ethernet cables are expertly designed and engineered to provide superior performance and reliability, even in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI). They are ruggedly constructed to withstand harsh industrial and environmental conditions-including oil, sunlight, wide temperature variations, abrasion and crushing. As a result, the cables ensure optimum network performance and uptime, and avoid data transmission errors that can lead to unsafe conditions or interruption of critical industrial control functions.

The new Industrial Ethernet products include:
- Belden 7933A - 2-pair, 24 AWG, foil shielded, Category 5e Bonded-Pair cable is CMR FT4 rated, features polyolefin insulation, industrial grade sunlight- and oil-resistant Black or Teal PVC jacket, and is Ethernet/IP compliant.

- Belden 7930A - 4-pair, 24 AWG, unshielded, Category 5e cable is CMR FT4 and CMX-outdoor rated, is stranded for added flexibility and features polyolefin insulation, industrial grade sunlight- and oil-resistant Black PVC jacket.

- Belden 7922A - 4-pair, 22 AWG, unshielded, Bonded-Pair Category 5e cable is PLTC, CMR FT4 and CMX-outdoor rated, features polyolefin insulation, industrial grade sunlight- and oil-resistant Black PVC jacket.

- Belden 11700A2 - 4-pair, 24 AWG unshielded, upjacketed, Bonded-Pair Category 5e cable is CMR FT4 and Oil Res I & II rated, features polyolefin insulation and industrial grade Black or Blue PVC outer jacket.

Belden's Bonded-Pair Technology: A Performance Advantage
Many versions of DataTuff cables offer the additional advantage of Belden's patented Bonded-Pair technology. This construction affixes the conductor insulation of the cable pairs along their longitudinal axes to ensure that no performance-robbing gaps can develop between the conductor pairs. In Bonded-Pair UTP cables, the conductor-to-conductor spacing is always uniform, resulting in excellent and consistently reliable electrical performance-even after the rigors of installation. Belden calls this unique capability Installable Performance.

TrayOptic Cables Feature Laser Certified Fiber and Water-Blocking
For installations demanding fiber optic technology with superior durability, Belden's entire series of TrayOptic fiber optic cables have been upgraded to include a water-blocking agent. They also utilize Laser Certified Fiber (LCF) to handle Gigabit Ethernet light sources and expanded bandwidth requirements. Designed for both indoor and outdoor industrial applications, these heavy-duty, all-dielectric, loose-tube fiber optic cables carry the IEEE 383 flame approval rating.
