It supports distances to 33 m using 62.5 µm multimode fiber with 200 MHz km min modal bandwidth @ 850 nm or 300 m using 50 µm multimode fiber with 2,000 MHz km min modal bandwidth @ 850 nm. Product supports Etherchannel/802.3ad, 802.1Q VLAN, and Jumbo frames up to 16 KB.

New IBM 10 Gigabit Ethernet-SR PCI-X Adapter Now Available for IBM eServer pSeries Systems



Overview

The following 10 Gigabit Ethernet-SR adapter is now available for pSeries® systems:

10 Gigabit Ethernet-SR PCI-X Adapter (#5718) offers 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X based server connections with throughput on a standard, shortwave multimode optical cable that conforms to the IEEE 802.3ae 10 Gigabit Ethernet-SR standard.

This adapter supports distances of up to 33 m using 62.5 um multimode fiber with 200 MHz km minimum modal bandwidth at 850 nm or 300 m using 50 um multimode fiber with 2000 MHz km minimum modal bandwidth at 850 nm.

Key prerequisites

· A supporting pSeries system

· One available PCI-X 3.3V 64 bit slot

· AIX® V5.2 or higher
