Littelfuse Announces New RoHS-Compliant PulseGuard® ESD Suppressors
New PBG 1 series suppressors lead-free with 50% lower trigger voltage
DES PLAINES, Illinois, April 30, 2004 - Littelfuse's ongoing eco-design strategy to reduce the concentrations of hazardous materials such as lead, cadmium and mercury is continuing to
result in new, environmentally friendly products. The new PulseGuard RoHS-compliant ESD suppressors meet the requirements of the RoHS directive for the reduction of hazardous substances and are compatible with higher temperature reflow cycles. Littelfuse has replaced the previous tin/lead metal finish on terminations with a tin finish.
In addition, the new PGB1 suppressors offer more robust performance over previous PulseGuard PGB series suppressors by lowering trigger voltage from a typical 1000V to 500V. This reduces voltage overshoot by as much as 50%.
RoHS-compliant PulseGuard suppressors offer ESD protection on high-speed signals such as HDMI, DVI, USB 2.0 and Firewire (IEEE 1394). With a capacitance of only 0.055 picofarads and an
ESD event response time of less than one nanosecond, the PGB1 products ensure the highest level of ESD protection without waveform distortion. The PGB1 products are designed to minimize
board space consumption and reduce inventory and assembly costs. Applications include network upstream and downstream interface circuits in servers, laptop/desktops, network devices,
peripherals, digital cameras, and external storage. All PGB1 devices are compatible with new, lead-free manufacturing processes.
