ESD Protection Diode features 0.1 pF capacitance.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing ESD Diode Array Process III, Model DF2B7M3SC protects USB 3.0/2.0, HDMI®, eSATA, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt™, and other high-speed data lines from electrostatic discharge. With small insertion loss of 0.1 dB @ f=5 GHz and low noise figure, device can also be used for wireless applications that are sensitive to signal and noise levels.

Original Press Release:

Toshiba Launches ESD Protection Diode with World's Lowest Capacitance for High Speed Data Lines

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced that it has launched an ESD([1]) protection diode, the DF2B7M3SC, with the lowest 0.1pF capacitance in its class([2]), which protects USB3.0/2.0, HDMI(®), eSATA, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt(TM), and other high speed data lines from ESD. Mass production is scheduled to begin in August of 2013.

The product uses the newly developed ESD Diode Array Process III (EAP III), and maintains the same ESD protection level with 1/2 capacitance of equivalent products([3]). It also realizes a small insertion loss([4]) and low noise figure, and can be used for wireless applications that are sensitive to signal and noise levels.

Applications

USB3.0/2.0, HDMI, eSATA, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt(TM), high frequency antenna, front-end module, Wi-Fi(TM), Bluetooth(TM), GPS
