ESD Protection Arrays feature capacitance of 0.8 pF.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring flow through design and 0.6 mm profile, suiting high-speed data lines in portable electronics, 2-line VBUS052CD-FAH is packaged in leadless LLP1713, while 4-line VBUS054CD-FHI is packaged in LLP2513. Maximum leakage current is less than 0.1 µA at working voltage of 5 V, breakthrough voltage id typical 7.9 V at 1 mA typ, and maximum clamping voltage is 15 V at 3.5 A. Pb-free devices provide transient protection for data lines as per IEC 61000 4 2 (ESD) at 15 kV.

Original Press Release:

Vishay's New 2-Line and 4-Line Bus Port Protection Arrays Provide Low Typical Capacitance of 0.8 pF and Low Leakage Current of < 0.1 µA in Ultra-Compact LLP2513 and LLP1713 Leadless Packages

Devices Feature "Flow Through" Design and Low Profile of 0.6 mm for High-Speed Data Lines in Portable Electronics

Malvern, Pennsylvania - Dec. 12, 2008 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today released two new compact 2-line and 4-line ESD-protection arrays with low capacitance and leakage current for the protection of high-speed data lines against transient voltage signals.

Featuring an ultra-low profile of 0.6 mm for board space savings, the two-line VBUS052CD-FAH is packaged in the leadless LLP1713, while the 4-line VBUS054CD-FHI is packaged in the LLP2513. The protection arrays feature a "flow through" design that supports the surge resistance requirements for high-speed data lines in applications such as USB 2.0, HDMI, display ports, eSATA, and 1394/Firewire in HDTVs and mobile electronics, including portable gaming systems, MP3 players, and cell phones.

The new devices feature a low load capacitance of 0.8 pF and a low maximum leakage current of < 0.1 µA at the working voltage of 5 V. The arrays offer a breakthrough voltage of typical 7.9 V (at 1 mA), and a maximum clamping voltage of 15 V at 3.5 A.
The bus port protection arrays provide transient protection for data lines as per IEC 61000 4 2 (ESD) at 15 kV (air and contact discharge). The lead (Pb)-free devices offer pure tin pin plating and a halogen-free molding compound, and their soldering can be checked by standard vision inspection without X-rays. The arrays are compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

Samples of the new 2-line and 4-line ESD bus port-protection arrays are available now. Production quantities will be available in Q1 2009, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
