ESCA SodaBlast Uses New Process of Silica-Free Abrasive Blasting to Provide Environmentally Friendly Blasting Services

ESCA SodaBlast in Hatfield, PA uses eco-friendly, silica-free and heavy metal-free blast media to achieve the same results as sandblasting, slag blasting, and chemical strippers, without the harmful side effects associated with these methods.

Armex blast media is classified as a soft abrasive and is USDA approved. This product was used during the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. ARMEX Blast Media is Sodium Bicarbonate (aka Baking Soda) and works great because the crystal shape is "sharp" and upon impact with a surface, it shatters and removes tough coatings and paints from various substrates without creating a profile.

Armex is effective in removing Automotive Paints, Boat Bottom Stripping, Fire Restoration, Graffiti Removal, Mold Restoration, Castings & Molds, Aerospace Parts, Machine Parts and Carbon & Grease Removal.

In other cases we use Recycled Crushed Glass as a replacement to hard abrasives including sand, coal slag, and aluminum oxide. Crushed glass does not contain any silica or heavy metals, making it extremely safe for workers and the environment. Crushed glass has been approved by federal and state government agencies and military branches. When blasted at a low pressure, crushed glass does not warp metal, creates paint ready surfaces, and requires no additional sanding or prep work.
