Erie representatives say product line offers greater durability than other composites

SYRACUSE, New York - Erie Materials, a wholesale building supply company serving professional builders and remodelers, has announced plans to begin carrying Correct Building Products' CorrectDeck, CorrectDeck CX and RapidRail products at all of its nine locations in New York State and northern Pennsylvania. Company officials said that the CorrectDeck and RapidRail products will be the only composites carried by Erie due to their superior performance and durability.

CorrectDeck, CorrectDeck CX and RapidRail are environmentally sustainable alternatives to PVC and exotic wood decking materials. They are manufactured with recycled hardwood and polypropylene, the strongest plastic used in decking material. The CorrectDeck CX and RapidRail product lines feature a co-extruded top layer that uses Microban® antimicrobial technology to encase the wood fibers and prevent mold growth, mildew, fading and staining.

Chris Neumann, executive vice president at Erie noted, "When a homeowner pays the premium cost for composite decking, they have very high expectations. If the decking product doesn't meet those expectations, the contractor's reputation suffers and so does ours. CorrectDeck CX is a product we believe in and our customers can put their faith in."

He added, "I found Correct Building Products' people and programs to be as impressive as its products. It is a stable, innovative company with a solid reputation and record. I am certain that they'll work hard for us and our customers."

The product also helps meet a growing regional demand for sustainable product options. Building projects that utilize CorrectDeck and RapidRail products can earn up to nine points toward Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

CorrectDeck and CX deck boards come in a wide range of colors to match any building project and feature two styles: channeled and classic Channeled CX deck boards work with the Fastenator hidden fastening system make installation faster and easier. Classic boards can be installed in the traditional manner. RapidRail is a pre-routed, easy to install railing system that comes in six colors to coordinate with multiple decking products.

Erie Materials, founded in 1973, has New York locations in Albany, Auburn, Binghamton, Elmira, Syracuse (headquarters), Utica, and Watertown. Pennsylvania locations are in Scranton and Williamsport.
