Creform Extreme Size Carts for Large Parts Handling

Creform Corporation (Greer, SC) has addressed the need for large parts handling-particularly those found with composite parts in the aerospace industry-with the development of its innovative Extreme Size Cart. The carts can be manufactured in virtually any size (pictured 246" L x 36" W x 30 H) and showcase the range of cart possibilities using the Creform System of plastic coated steel pipes, metal joints and accessories. The industrial-tough proven Extreme Size Carts, designed to accommodate large parts of various shapes, sizes and lengths are an efficient means for moving parts from one manufacturing station to another. Apart from the unique feature of length, the carts incorporate an elevated load platform with a solid plastic shelf surface to provide for damage-free handling of large, sensitive parts. The cart is designed to be larger than the parts it carries to offer additional part protection.

The cart has a 500 lb load capacity, but its lightweight and ergonomic construction makes it easy to handle. The cart is equipped with eight large diameter swivel casters for easy rolling and all casters feature brakes that can be engaged for secure positioning. Cart handles at both ends are easily height adjustable without tools and allow the operators to steer and push the cart safely with minimal effort, while the wheel brakes ensure secure positioning during loading/unloading.

The "standard" specifications of the cart can be customized to meet a wide array of application needs, all focused on large part delivery and handling.

The Extreme Size Cart can be constructed in various colors to distinguish carts by department or to enhance enterprise appearance. Thanks to the modular nature of Creform technology, the Extreme Size Cart can be outfitted with a hitch for towing or, with the addition of a bolt-on AGC unit, turned into a cost effective and rapidly deployed Creform AGV.

For additional load-bearing capacity the cart can be constructed using Creform's new larger and more robust 42mm diameter pipes and joints. Creform 42mm pipe has 2.5 times the strength of standard Creform 28mm pipe.

Creform structural components are used to create an array of material handling devices, including push and trailer carts, flow racks, roller conveyors, hinged shelf carts, tilting racks, workstations, and rolling tool cribs. The Creform System is a proven component in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs, and Creform Corporation partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
