EQ Expands TSCA-Approved Capacity at Wayne Disposal Facility

Wayne, MI – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently posted a new permit to expand the TSCA disposal capacity at EQ's Wayne Disposal, Inc. (WDI), by an additional 12 million cubic yards. The increased disposal volume extends the life of the Wayne Disposal Facility well into the future and allows EQ to continue to provide landfill disposal services for hazardous waste and PCB / RCRA generators in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, chemical, energy, retail, government and the public sector.

TSCA is the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, which regulates, among other things, PCB wastes. WDI is one of only 10 approved TSCA landfills in the U.S. and one of only three facilities east of the Mississippi. With its rail and strategic location, EQ serves a nationwide footprint providing best in class capabilities and service.

The EPA approval expanding the PCB disposal capacity of WDI not only further strengthens EQ's industry-leading PCB and hazardous waste treatment and disposal capabilities but also acts as a vote of confidence in WDI's capabilities, experience, and adherence to the TSCA regulations.

WDI offers safe, compliant, and cost-effective disposal solutions for TSCA waste. As one of the only RCRA/TSCA facilities in either the Midwest or Northeast U.S., WDI is easily accessible to most U.S. industrial centers and offers a wide variety of disposal solutions to its hazardous waste customers.

Customers return to EQ's Wayne Disposal Facility not only because of the 57 years of disposal experience, unique capabilities and top customer service, but also because of the stringent approval and waste-handling procedures that exceed regulatory requirements and make WDI the safe and reliable disposal service choice at a fair price.
