Epson Launches Ultra-Compact Dot Matrix Printer in Middle East

Brings reliable invoice printing to delivery vans and small shop counters

Epson has announced the Middle East launch of the LQ-50 - a 24-pin, 50-column, ultra-compact dot matrix printer designed for environments where space is at a premium, such as delivery vans and small shop counters. Offering reliable operation with a low total cost of ownership (TCO), the LQ-50 is ideal for printing invoices, receipts and delivery notes, including up to two copies.

The LQ-50 fits almost anywhere thanks to its small footprint, which measures just 275 x 240mm. It is even suitable for dusty environments when used with the optional protective roll paper cover, which guards against dust and splashes. The LQ-50 supports efficient continuous printing for media such as roll and fanfold paper, and prints up to 360 characters per second to ensure that customers will not be kept waiting.

To help keep running costs and maintenance time down, the LQ-50 has a ribbon yield of approximately 3 million characters, which can be extended using draft mode. It also has a mean time between failures of around 10,000 hours for years of trouble-free operation. Further, low power consumption qualified by ENERGY STAR further reduces the total cost of ownership.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, "With its extremely small footprint and parallel and USB interfaces, which Epson includes as standard, the LQ-50 is really easy to integrate. Moreover, the printer offers low running costs and is also low on maintenance, while being highly reliable."
