Epson Launches Desktop Visualiser Projector that Advances Interactive Learning

With the ELP-DC11, teachers benefit from easy-to-use, high quality, affordable package

Epson, worldwide leader in the projector market , has announced the Middle East launch of the latest desktop visualiser - ELP-DC11 - for easy-to-use, interactive learning. The device, essentially a high-quality 5 megapixel camera on a rugged, hinged arm, is designed to help teachers at primary and secondary schools effortlessly share 3D objects, books, experiments and even living things with classes and also create multimedia lesson notes. The ELP-DC11 offers an outstanding set of features at an affordable price-point.

Busy teachers are always seeking ways to make learning interesting and Epson is well placed to aid them, as it has a long history in providing projection equipment for the classroom and understands the need for easy-to-use devices which make their job easier.

When used at its most basic level, the visualiser connects directly to any projector to share physical objects or digital content. With an Epson projector, the native aspect ratio is automatically detected, so the image fills the screen exactly.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, "Epson is committed to provide a wider range of innovative and superior technology solutions catering to the education segment, as we seek to complement the growing focus on quality education across the Middle East. Epson's desktop visualiser is designed to help create a more engaging and interactive classroom environment, making it easier for teachers to communicate with pupils and deliver their lessons more effectively. The launch of the new visualiser is also part of our continuing thrust to develop more quality-driven solutions that address the distinct requirements of our customers in the region."

The large A3 shooting area means objects don't need to be precisely positioned or continually readjusted, while the buttons are intuitive. Use the highly visible, dedicated buttons to: auto focus; switch between inputs (a PC or the visualiser's camera); zoom in and out; take photos; or record video. Rotating the head of the arm through 90 degrees to adjust the camera's viewpoint is simple too. And science teachers can easily attach a microscope to share a close-up view via the attachment included with the ELP-DC11.

The Advanced Application Software manages the interactive functions and multimedia options. Take still images and record videos or even watch ice-cream melt at speed with the time-lapse feature which captures up to 72 hours. Then add written notes or audio commentary to videos or pictures, thanks to the built-in microphone and live annotation feature, with simple-to-use drawing tools.

For the ultimate learning experience the ELP-DC11 can connect to Epson's interactive projectors, the EB-450Wi and EB-460i, so teachers can create real-time notes on the big screen or annotate 3D objects, then record the images captured.
