Epoxy Cast Transformer
AFP recently provided several EpoxyCast transformers to the TVA to replace existing oil-filled units that offer the advantage of the environmental issues associated with oil units. These were 600v class with single phase ratings of 15 to 50kVA and used to supply power HVAC functions. AFP EpoxyCast transformers offer the following advantages:
•Vacuum encapsulated High Voltage windings; Vacuum Impregnated Low Voltage windings.
•Smaller enclosure requirements than equivalent oil filled designs, usually can be designed into existing switchgear enclosure dimensions.
•Epoxy construction eliminates need for environmental oil containment.
•Epoxy construction resistant to weather / abrasive locations and can be supplied in NEMA 3R or 4 rated cabinets.
