EPE Solutions to Represent Transgard in Kentucky, Tennessee

Agreement will expand growth for animal-deterring substation fencing

(June 21, 2016, NEW FREEDOM, Pa.) - TransGard, which has installed proven animal-prevention fencing at more than 2,500 substations in North America, announced today it has reached an agreement with EPE Solutions, Inc., a leading manufacturers’ representative serving the electric power industry.

EPE Solutions will offer TransGard’s patented substation fencing to utilities, cooperatives and other energy providers in Kentucky and Tennessee.

TransGard developed the only substation fencing that deters climbing animals by delivering a mild electric shock - a humane technique that, according to IEEE, offers the most effective barrier against animal incursion. TransGard prevents outages caused by squirrels, snakes, raccoons, cats and a range of other animals.

“Because of the growing interest in TransGard fences, we continue to secure professional representation to help us meet demand,” said Bill Reichard, TransGard’s general manager. “EPE Solutions will be the ideal partner for us in Kentucky and Tennessee – two states that have experienced a significant number of substation outages caused by climbing animals.”
