EOSINT P 700 LASER Sintering System in Use at Forecast Product Development

September 15, 2006

CARLSBAD, CALIF. - September 15, 2006 - Forecast Product Development, the leading provider of rapid prototyping and manufacturing for plastics and metals, today announced the certification for production use of the EOSINT P 700 laser sintering machine, the first dual laser system available for producing plastic parts.

Alex Fima, president of Forecast, states, "We chose the EOSINT P 700 because there is no other laser sintering technology that comes close to its performance in building large parts. The P 700 incorporates dual laser technology that delivers speed and quality that is unmatched by any other laser-sintering system. And the powder conveyer maximizes the use of raw materials, making it more economical than other systems."

The EOSINT P 700 is unlike any other laser sintering machine. It features a massive build platform measuring 28" x 15" x 23" and dual CO2 lasers. The increased capacity enables the P 700 to build multiple parts or complete assemblies at increased build speeds, which creates new opportunities for high volume prototype production and rapid manufacturing of finished goods. The machine uses nylon materials that are strong enough for aerospace and automotive applications.

"The P 700, along with our new laser scanning inspection arm, truly allows us to bridge the gap between rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing," said Tory Sirkin, VP of Sales for Forecast and Directed Manufacturing, a new subsidiary of Forecast that offers certified production laser sintering services.
