Environmental Services Company Awarded Utility Contract in Knoxville, Tennessee

SWS Environmental Services was recently awarded a contract with the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) for environmental containment and remediation services.

Knoxville, TN — SWS Environmental Services (SWSES), a leading environmental services company, announced it has been awarded a five-year contract with the Knoxville Utilities Board for environmental containment and remediation services needed throughout the utility's service area.  The work will include, "emergency on call fast response for unplanned or accidental spills, releases to surface waterways, on-grade or sub-grade spills or releases, or any other unplanned or unforeseen remediation activity that requires immediate attention."

The contract is an example of a public utility ensuring they have the right people and companies in place to ensure it can continue to provide safe, experienced and reliable services for their counties, cities and towns.

Over the years, SWSES has worked with the Knoxville Utilities Board.  The new contract covers all emergency response, environmental containment and remediation services.  Staff and crew will work side-by-side with KUB employees to provide any services within scope of the contract and will be on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for any emergency that arises.  Potential work could include excavations of contaminated soils, pumping out storm water from manholes and sewers and cleaning and maintenance in wastewater treatment facilities.

John Goelz, Knoxville Service Center Manager said, "SWS Environmental Services, and in particular the Knoxville Service Center, is very happy to be awarded the Emergency Response-Environmental Containment Remediation Services contract for the Knoxville Utilities Board.  With more than 445,000 customers in Knox County and parts of seven surrounding counties, KUB is one of the largest utilities in the state of Tennessee, and a valued customer."

SWSES works with public and private companies alike. For more information on how SWSES can assist your utility or private organization, visit www.swsenvironmental.com.
