The newest addition to our rental product line, the Geonics EM 34-3XL comes complete with digital data collection with Archer PC. Particularly suited to geologists and hydrogeologists, the EM34-3XL ground conductivity meter is an easy-to-operate and cost-effective solution for groundwater investigations, subsurface contamination and geological mapping. Plus, use it for mapping groundwater contaminant plumes and for exploring potable groundwater resources.
Using the same conductive technique as the EM31-Mk2, the EM-34XL Ground Conductivity Meter incorporates three inter coil spacings of 10, 20 and 40 meters to provide depth exploration up to 60 meters. Horizontal and vertical dipole modes are available with each of the three intercoil spacings, which yield a total of six measurements for a single location. Ideal for vertical geologic anomalies, the vertical dipole mode can be used for groundwater exploration in fractured and faulted bedrock.
With its amplified transmitter power and larger transmitter coil, the signal-to-noise ratio is improved by a factor of 10 at the 40 m spacing and a factor of four at the 10 m and 20 m spacing. This makes this ground conductivity meter especially suited in areas with high atmospheric and/or cultural noise.
