Original Press Release:

Instron Launches 3119-600 Environmental Chamber Series

Instron, a leading provider or testing equipment solutions designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, introduces an advanced line of environmental chambers for controlling temperature on materials testing machines.  The 3119-600 Series cover a temperature range from -100 °C to +350 °C and feature an adaptable Eurotherm 3208 auto-tuning digital temperature controller.  Removable wedges with instrumentation ports allow for easy routing of load string setup, extensometer cables, and thermocouples.

The chamber door comes standard with a sizeable glass window warmed by integral twin heaters paired with an internal halogen light for easy and vibrant specimen viewing.  Even at extremely low temperatures, where frosting and misting could impair the performance of such devices as video extensometers, the optical conditions remain constant.

The chambers use well-proven forced convection technology for optimum temperature distribution and feature high/low fan speed selection to allow delicate specimens to be tested with reduced influence from air circulating within the chamber.

An enhanced controller option offers programming capabilities to define heating rates and dwell times (eight segments) as well as permitting PC communication with compatible software via USB plus producing 0-10V analog output.

Available in three height variants, the chambers are designed to meet the increasing need for testing materials and components at extreme temperatures for a host of applications.

A wide range of accessories is available for use at high and low temperatures including grips, fixtures, and extensometers.
