Enterprise-Class NVRAM enhances storage, data center efficacy.

Press Release Summary:

Based on PCIe® 3.0 interface, EXPRESSvault™ EV3 non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) can be used as block storage device for DMA transactions and persistent memory extension mapped directly to host. NVRAM can be applied to storage systems using inline deduplication and compression, encryption, indexing, and mapping. Supplied in 4, 8, and 16 GB capacities, solution delivers sustainable performance exceeding 400K IOPS with sub-microsecond latency. Write endurance is virtually unlimited.

Netlist Introduces New Family of High Performance Non-Volatile RAM for Enterprise Storage and Data Centers

EXPRESSvault(TM) EV3 PCIe 3.0 NVRAM plug and play capabilities demonstrated on Dell R630 server at the SNIA Data Storage Innovation Conference

IRVINE, Calif. -- Netlist, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST), a leading provider of high performance memory storage solutions for the cloud computing and storage markets, announced the introduction of its EXPRESSvault(TM) EV3 PCI Express® (PCIe®) 3.0 Non-volatile RAM (NVRAM), the newest product in its NVvault family. Netlist, a member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), will demonstrate EXPRESSvault's bandwidth and I/Os per second (IOPS) at the SNIA Data Storage Innovation Conference taking place this week in Santa Clara, CA.

Netlist's EXPRESSvault EV3 family is a new ultra-fast storage class memory tier designed to accelerate mission critical applications in scale-out storage, all-flash arrays, database systems, distributed file systems, and server-side caching.  The product can be used as both a block storage device for efficient DMA transactions and a persistent memory extension mapped directly to the host.  In addition, the EXPRESSvault EV3 can be applied to storage systems using inline deduplication and compression, encryption, indexing and mapping.

"We are proud to debut this new EXPRESSvault EV3 family which provides plug-and-play PCIe connectivity and builds upon our position as an innovator in the NVRAM marketplace," said Christopher Lopes, VP of Worldwide Sales at Netlist.  "We are delivering a superior solution that meets the high performance and endurance demands of enterprise storage and data center applications for the cloud.  EXPRESSvault EV3 architecture ensures data in memory is immediately and reliably backed up without the use of expensive, inefficient UPS or battery technologies.  Because this solution is independent of the memory bus technology and works in both DDR3 and DDR4 based hardware, it is easy to integrate and take to production."

EXPRESSvault EV3 is the latest enterprise class product from Netlist, based on the industry-standard PCIe 3.0 interface to enable plug-and-play PCIe connectivity.  It combines the high speed and endurance of DRAM with the non-volatility of MLC NAND flash to deliver sustainable performance of more than 400K I/Os per second (IOPS) with sub-microsecond latency--performance far superior than today's fastest Solid State Drives (SSD).  EXPRESSvault is an ideal match for server and storage solutions in next-generation data centers for cloud computing that integrate IBM POWER or Intel Haswell/Broadwell CPUs and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and PCI Express SSD products.

Key competitive attributes of the EXPRESSvault EV3 include:

--  Virtually unlimited write endurance

--  End to end Data coverage

--  Fast Backup times: 4GB ~ 24 seconds, 8GB ~ 48 seconds, 16GB ~ 96 seconds

--  Supercap rating: 5 year @ 50C ambient, UL Certification

--  Supercap charge time - less than 4 min

--  Extensive Health Monitoring, Error reporting with Predictive failure warnings, and Backup, restore, power, NAND life status

--  Data Retention - 3 months

The EXPRESSvault EV3 is available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities and in production quantities as early as June 2015.  Additional EXPRESSvault information and samples can be obtained by visiting www.netlist.com.
