Buffalo Launches the Industry's First Enterprise-Class NAS with HGST Ultrastar(TM) He(6) Helium-Filled Drives

AUSTIN, Texas – Buffalo Americas, a leading provider of external storage, network attached storage and networking solutions, today announced the availability of the TeraStation™ 7120r Enterprise 72 TB 2U Rackmount NAS (TS-2RZH72T12D), the industry's first enterprise-class network attached storage (NAS) model with 6 TB HGST Ultrastar He(6) helium-filled drives. This quad-core, enterprise-class NAS enables IT managers to expand their system storage capacity without adding rack storage space, power circuits or additional storage units, resulting in maximized space utilization and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).

The TeraStation 7120r Enterprise NAS offers 72 TB of high performance, highly available storage featuring the powerful Intel Xeon E3-1275 quad-core processor, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and 12-6 TB enterprise-class Ultrastar He6 hard drives, for exceptional performance. It is VMware® Certified and Citrix® Ready, and support for RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/51/60/61 provides continuous data protection for business critical data and increased fault tolerance and data availability. TeraStation 7120r Enterprise is packed with business-class features such as Active Directory support, disk quota support, share level replication, quad gigabit Ethernet ports supporting link aggregation up to 4 Gbps, hot-swap hard drives, iSCSI targeting and add-on PCI-Express card support with approved devices.
Reducing Data Center TCO with Helium
IT professionals at high volume data centers and other enterprise storage systems are continuously looking for ways to add capacity while reducing costs.
