Enhancing the Traditional Wash Press

New version has features that prevent damage to the equipment

FORT LAUDERDALE - FL -Parkson has recently announced the launch of an enhanced version of a wash press, the Aqua WashPress, created by Parkson's in-house design team. Included in the upgrade is the addition of a reliable Eurodrive gear motor and packing gland which prevent water from entering the drive and causing damage.

"Parkson has been involved in the design and manufacturing of screening systems for over 40 years, offering screens as part of a system that includes screenings conveying, washing and dewatering" says Dave Mitchell, Operations Leader and Vernon Hills Site Director at Parkson. "Parkson has been very active in the design, installation and operation of washers and dewatering presses which contributed the experience necessary in creating the enhanced Aqua WashPress that we have just launched."

Parkson traces its history in the screening business to the early 1970s, its products evolving with changing client needs and the industry's progression towards finer and finer screening. When Parkson began in the space, the product portfolio was dedicated exclusively to screening. Only later did the industry begin to include dewatering and now washing plus dewatering to further reduce the volume and weight of a facility's solids waste. Parkson has consistently been ahead of the industry, offering state of the art screens with openings that have trended from one (1) inch to less than one-quarter (¼) inch. Parkson continues to help shape the industry with its internally-designed washing and compaction product. With the enhanced product, Parkson has also moved manufacturing to the United States, which supports any "Buy America" requirements that may exist.

According to Zain Mahmood, Parkson's President and CEO, "the newly redesigned Aqua WashPress is one of what I expect to be numerous new product announcements in 2010. Our recent investments in innovation and product development are starting to show positive results which will ultimately lower the overall operating costs for our customers."
