Samtec Announces Final Inch(TM)

Samtec simplifies use of high speed connectors by extending the concept of recommended PCB pad layouts and SPICE models beyond the connector and board interface. Samtec FINAL INCH(TM) reference designs address one of the most difficult design issues on the board, the trace breakout region around high speed connectors. These copyrighted and patent-pending designs save customers design, development and validation time and resources.

FINAL INCH(TM) Information has three components: Physical Models, Electrical Models and Test Evaluation Kits. Downloadable art files of designs in Gerber and .dxf formats are based on real-world materials and processes and can be cut and pasted into standard board layout software packages. SPICE models beyond the connector further out onto the board provide real world performance expectations. And finally, FINAL INCH(TM) Test and Evaluation boards allow testing by the customer of the complete design. Samtec will also supply Empirical Signal Integrity data to validate the electrical system performance.

Samtec Signal Integrity engineers have developed FINAL INCH(TM) trace routings to balance electrical performance with manufacturability and cost. Test boards are designed to study connector, footprint, breakout region and traces in an actual application environment using standard materials and manufacturing processes.
