Maysteel Responds to Customer Engineering Needs by Launching Standalone Design Engineering Services (DES) (TM)

ALLENTON, Wis. – Wisconsin-based Maysteel LLC, a leading manufacturer of precision sheet metal enclosures, announces the launch of its standalone Design Engineering services (DES).

For over 75 years, Maysteel has provided its design engineering expertise to Fortune 100 companies helping them ensure their products fit unique product and branding requirements. Because Maysteel utilizes Design for Manufacturability principles (DFM) they engineer highly manufacturable products, reducing the customer’s investment in parts, procurement or labor for the end product. No matter how challenging the idea or current design, once a project is completed, customers are assured their product has the Maysteel stamp of approval: it can be easily made in metal.

In 2012, Maysteel field tested this service throughout the marketplace, engaging in 8 project undertakings. For all 8 of those projects, Maysteel succeeded in meeting customer and project expectations, and streamlined manufacturing costs and processes.

“Maysteel understands that in today’s market, internal engineering teams are leaner, meaning more customers need to leverage outside engineering resources for their projects” commented Doug Odell, Maysteel’s Director of Business Development. Now, customers can employ Maysteel’s team to turn their ideas into reality through design, redesign and reverse engineering services without a production commitment. Maysteel is as much of a design engineering company as it is a product manufacturer.

“From a design for manufacturability cost reduction analysis (DFM) for the next generation of a current product to ensuring a new product’s design is expertly tailored for a manufacturing environment to everything in between, our customers receive value.” Odell continued. “Maysteel engineers become an extension of their internal teams, working concurrently to reduce time to market and overall product costs.”

After utilizing Maysteel DES, customers can choose to move forward with prototype or production in one of Maysteel regional vertically integrated manufacturing locations.
