New Module Enables Off-Road Equipment Components to Read SAE J-1939
(Hartford, WI) The HED CL-601 solid-state microprocessor based module makes it possible for smart engines on off-road equipment with a J1939 ECU (Engine Controller Unit) to communicate information to vehicle components, including a standard analog gauge package, indicator lights and meters. This rugged, single board controller is a member of the HED CANLink multiplexed control family.
The CL-601 incorporates eight low current sinking PWM outputs for driving analog-type gauges, and eight sinking On/Off 200 mA outputs for driving indicator lights.
Special Features include:
o 8 configurable/adjustable sinking PWM 200 mA Outputs (capable of driving gauges).
o 8 sinking digital (on/off) 200 mA Outputs.
o NEMA 4 rated enclosures that are intended for either interior or exterior installation.
o J-1939 CAN Input.
o 4 Harness Code Inputs.
Special Modifications Available:
o Two of the sinking PWM Outputs can be hardware configured to be frequency inputs.
o The four Harness Code Inputs can be hardware configured to be 8-bit a/d Inputs.
o Two of the Harness Code Inputs can be re-configured to be a J-1708 Input or as two frequency inputs.
The standard HED CL-601 is furnished with software code that makes it able to "translate" registered SAE J-1939 CAN messages and send them over a twisted pair of wires to drive standard analog gauges directly. The module can be configured through software to be either a stand-alone gauge driver or to be a "slave" module in a multiplexed system application.
The CL-601 can be programmed to drive a variety of different gauges from different gauge manufacturers.
