Enerpulse Releases New Pulse Plug for BMW, Mercedes and Chrysler Automobiles

Unique drop-in replacement for spark plugs improves engine performance

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 5 -- Ignition products company Enerpulse, Inc. announced today that it has released to market a newly designed pulse plug under the brand name of Pulstar (TM)Model BE1. The new design is specifically engineered to replace spark plugs in most late model BMW, Mercedes and Chrysler automobiles and provides those vehicles with improved fuel economy and performance.

Pulstar (TM)is the first capacitor-enhanced spark plug, called a pulse plug, and is the largest technological advancement in spark plug design in the past 100 years. Pulstar (TM)has demonstrated its ability to improve vehicle fuel efficiency over spark plugs by as much as 12 percent in real-life road testing.

In addition to fuel economy tests, Enerpulse also performs industry-recognized dynamometer testing to determine torque and horsepower output. Typically, dynamometer tests comparing spark plugs to pulse plugs indicate that Pulstar (TM)BE1 improves torque and horsepower by 6 to 10 percent in most BMW, Mercedes and Chrysler vehicles. Certain large displacement engines like the BMW 6.0L V12 or the Mercedes 5.5L V12 will show even greater torque gains. Pulse plugs are safe for use in all vehicles. Even though their peak power is exponentially higher than so-called high performance spark plugs, the spark duration is so brief that no harm can come to engine components.

The visibly larger, more powerful spark ignites more of the fuel presented to the cylinder in a shorter period of time. This causes the combustion gases to expand more rapidly and push the cylinder down with more force. That turns the wheels with greater torque. If you are towing a boat, this newfound power is a welcome benefit. If you are simply cruising down the highway, more power per gallon equals more miles per gallon because your engine gets more work done with less gasoline. In addition to improving combustion efficiency and yielding better overall engine performance, fuel consumption and associated green house gases are reduced by as much as 10%.

Enerpulse, Inc., a privately held company headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., was founded in 1996. The company develops environmentally friendly ignition products through the application of pulse power technology. For more information, visit http://www.pulstarplug.com/.
