Energy Savings Programs by Utility Companies Are on the Rise

Utility companies are now implementing energy savings programs more than ever. These programs can call for conservation kits, in all shapes and sizes, to be shipped to a large portion of their customers. And as these programs continue to thrive, AM Conservation Group has adapted to meet the demand.

According to John Bailes, Vice President of Sales at AM Conservation Group, utility companies have increased their energy savings options mainly because Public Utility Commissions are now finding creative ways for utility companies to recover the costs of running the programs.

"Customers are sometimes surprised when they see fees for programs tacked onto their bill but feel relief after seeing that the program is gradually lowering their overall bill," Bailes said.

Energy savings programs are not only financially advantageous for consumers but utility companies have recognized the cost benefits of avoiding the immediate need to construct new power plants.

"It's sometimes more cost effective to save energy instead of having to build a capital intensive power plant," Bailes said. "They may ultimately build that plant, but it might be helpful if they can delay it."

And as demand increases, AM Conservation Group continues to create the innovative solutions necessary to ensure the success of large scale energy savings programs.

Modified Kits

AM Conservation is able to build energy savings kits to meet the need of every utility company. They have expanded their product offerings and have stocked higher quantities to cater to each utility company's programs. AM Conservation Group has the resources to personalize each kit for each program, routinely inventing and producing kits, products and product packaging options.

Expansive Facilities

The expanded headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina have enabled AM Conservation Group to house large quantities of each product, making the building of kits easier and more available. This process also enables utility companies and municipalities to buy in bulk, giving them cost savings over retail outlets who might not be able to handle larger orders.

As energy savings programs become more effective, utility companies and their customers will continue to demand more and better product solutions from industry leaders like AM Conservation.

"(The demand) has been rising since the day I got here," Bailes said. "The projections are that this will continue for many years because it's been so successful for both utilities and ratepayers."
